Scuba Equipment Service

Equipment Service Available

You invested in your life support equipment and it deserves to be cared for correctly.  Scuba equipment manufacturers are now recommending you have your equipment inspected by a certified technician at least once per year or every 300 dives, whichever comes first.  Scuba Oasis is authorized to inspect and repair all Sherwood and Genesis regulators, BCDs, and tank valves in house.  All other brands will be outsourced to an authorized repair center to ensure your equipment gets the proper maintenance it deserves; please allow for a two week turn around time.  Rush service is available for an additional fee.

Annual Visual Inspection (VIP) of aluminum and steel scuba cylinders is performed at our location.  The 5-year Hydrostatic Testing of all scuba and non-scuba cylinders is outsourced to a local company and requires a one-week turn around time.  Rush service is available for an additional fee.

Regulator Annual Inspection / Overhaul Service: $35 per stage, plus parts

Each stage will be disassembled using tools designed for your equipment to prevent damage from occurring.  The disassembled pieces will be soaked in a solution for cleaning, rinsed, and inspected for defects.  Hoses will be inspected for dry-rot, leaks, and corroded connections.  If any parts are found to be defective you will be contacted before any replacements are made.  The stages will then be reassembled to manufacturers specifications and tested and tuned for optimal performance.

BCD Inspection / Overhaul Service: $35, plus parts

Your BCD will be tested for function and disassembled for cleaning.  Each part will be soaked in a cleaning solution, rinsed, and inspected for defects.  The BCD itself will be soaked in a cleaning solution to clean exterior and bladder.  If any parts are found to be defective you will be contacted before any replacements are made.  The BCD will be reassembled with new power inflator button installed and tested for proper function.

Computer Battery Replacement: Cost of Parts

Scuba Oasis technicians can replace your battery in as little as a few minutes for your convenience.  No charge for labor, you only pay the cost of the battery kit.  Sure, you could replace a user replaceable battery, but why take the chance of flooding your expensive computer because of a pinched o-ring.  Stop in today and be sure that computer will be ready to dive when you are.

Cylinder Visual Inspection: $25

Your cylinder’s exterior will be cleaned and inspected for corrosion, damage, and deformations.  The valve will be inspected for function and removed.  The interior of cylinder will be inspected for corrosion, pits, cracks, and other defects.  If defects are found, a second opinion from a certified technician will be consulted before the cylinder is condemned from use.  The interior will be cleaned as needed and valve reinstalled with new o-ring at neck and valve orifice.  It will then be filled with air to rated capacity and a new VIP sticker will be placed on cylinder as proof of inspection.

Cylinder Hydro-static Inspection: $55

Your cylinder will receive the regular Visual Inspection procedure then placed in Hydro-static Testing chamber.  The cylinder will be tested to ensure the metal’s flexibility meets current standards.  Cylinders which meet DOT safety standards will be stamped by the inspector as proof of testing.  Any cylinder which fails to meet the safety standards will be condemned from use.  Cylinders which meet the standards will have valves re-installed with new o-ring at the neck and valve orifice.  It will then be filled to its rated capacity and a new VIP sticker will be placed on cylinder as proof of Visual Inspection.
